Review :
Kind of eye opening
Unfortunately, my dating history is pretty... friendzone-centric, so the premise of the book really spoke to me. And I think it delivered for the most part, as it really allowed me to understood why I fall into the friendzone so much. He has 20 "chemistry principles", zero of which I did in the past.

I also really liked that the author really related to normal guys and didn't go all pickup artist on me. His examples to create chemistry were really realistic for even someone like me to do.

Everyone can learn something from this
I gotta say, the phrase "I just don't think of you that way" strikes a nerve in me. I may have been labeled a nice guy before as well, so this book definitely intrigued me. I like and appreciate the fact that this isn't a pick up artist-y book that tells you the solution is simply to change yourself completely. Instead, he illustrates what works when wooing a girl and creating chemistry, and gives you steps and examples on how to do it yourself.

My favorite part was when he talked about text and phone game. After reading his 10 commandments, I was embarrassed thinking about how I used to approach it.

with a grain of salt
not bad for the price. I liked some of the dating tips and how they apply to the brains chemistry /biology effect. but had to pull the breaks when I got to ( chemistry principle #9) known as roll out the red carpet. there is some advice in that chapter " that if a woman likes flowers ,she'll love getting them in front of others" type of deal that I didn't agree with. young men just starting out on game/dating might misunderstand that part of the books advice. men if your between the ages of 18 to 30 stay the hell away from flowers, unless your past the sex stage and the women is really, really into you. another thing, I am not trying to be one of those reviewers that has to be different and critique something that every one seems to give 5 stars for, I am actually trying to be nice with my 4 star review. anyway I'm not in a rush to purchase any other books of this author, I am also tired of the term "dating coach" I don't know why. I still recommend this book , but I...

Review :
I was a bit scared to read this.
I bought this book after running into several folks over a ten year period that were into polyamory--having more than one lover at a time.

To be honest, I was half way between fear and weariness in my emotional take on this book. Fear? I was and am monogamous so fear for sure; but weary of judging my two or three friends who were oriented this way with multiple lovers. I felt their honesty and candor and approach to sexual integrity was scoring far better than mine. Not to mention more often! Yes, finding more integrity in their relationships than many of my church friends, some of whom were defending to the death their long dead marriages; lifeless, dry, sexless "relationships".

With Taormino's interviews of 100 plus folks in alternative relationships, a few things stood out for me as a traditional type married and sometimes churchy guy. All of us could learn a good deal from Tristan's book here on the matter of communication and honesty. I've learned...
Essential reading for everybody entering into an intimate relationship of any kind
Tristan Taormino has done it again. Her flair for intelligent, engaging journalism takes a hotly debated subject and demystifies it in a pragmatic, yet charming manner. As a relationship counselor, specializing in alternative affairs, I have, by this time, given all of my initial order copies of Opening Up to clients and friends. This easy to read primer holds priceless value to anyone involved in an intimate liaison and is not only for those in or contemplating open relationships. Taormino's talent for translating thorough research into entertaining reading is made even more beneficial through her use of checklists, guides, definitions and practical advice on etiquette, negotiation and more. What could have easily been just another boring, clinical look at alternative relationship models is presented in a vividly human way and accentuated via the many personal experiences which can be found throughout the book. By shattering countless misconceptions, fabrications, myths and rumors...
The book I've been waiting for
A number of good and okay books on nonmonogamy and polyamory have been published in the last several years. I read most of them: some were focused on particular forms of nonmonogamy; others dominated by a spiritual bent, others were just poorly written or edited. Some were downright Pollyanna-ish in their superficial treatment of the challenges of open relationships, occasionally reeking of smug superiority over less-evolved monogamous couplings. None of them was the perfect book I wanted to recommend to the curious, the novice, the baffled and disapproving. This is that book.

Among the book's chief strengths is its breadth. Taormino conducted over 120 interviews with a diverse sample of the nonmonogamous - people of varying ages, sexualities, and (most of all) approaches to relationships. This variety is highlighted by six chapters on different types of open relationships, discussing each types particular advantages and challenges and sharing the experiences of...

Review :
Great Book for anyone with children.
In the Introduction to this book the author explains that this is not just a cookbook. She explains why she wrote this book and why it is so important for anyone with a baby.

She wants children to grow up not being picky eater but healthy eaters that get excited about new foods to try. She talks about not only taste, but texture also in a sensory rich diet. She also mentions that if your child does not like a certain food the first time, try cooking it differently, or cut it into different shapes.

The book talks about watching children play with raw vegetables. Then have it for dinner, so they are familiar with the veggies before they eat it. She also talks about having the child help in the kitchen as soon as possible. She let her little one start at 18 months old. The child would peel their own clementines, tear the kale leaves from the stems, and peel cooked and cooled tomatoes.

Mrs. Harrison has some really great ideas. I think this book...
A Real Foods Approach To Nourishing Baby
I did not read this book until my baby was 8 months old and we had introduced solids at 6 months. The book completely changed how I am approaching food with my daughter. It helped me be more in tune with her cues and what she does and does not like. I stopped trying to force purees on her (which she just did not want) and letting her explore the food and deciding when and if she wanted to eat it. She prefers picking up larger pieces of food and feeding them to herself as opposed to being spoon fed. It has created much less stress for both of us.

There are amazing recipes that pair different fruits and veggies with herbs to help baby become accustomed to many different flavors. I never would have even thought about using some of the herbs and spices with her but I love I can use them for the entire family's dishes. The book also stresses the importance of healthy fats, pastured meats, and organic produce which is what we strive to have in our kitchen already. I have already...
Beyond Jar Baby Food
I received a review copy of this book, and I have to say I'm very impressed. I have been a fan of the author's blog for sometime, but it is great to have some of her work in print. The book is very well written and is full of beautiful pictures, good information and healthy recipes.
I just had baby number 3 and I am really excited about this book. She includes lots of recipes that are simple, nutrient dense and will appeal even to my picky eaters! No reason to use jarred baby food anymore! Most of these recipes are good for the whole family.
If you are thinking of making your own baby food or looking for good recipes for young children, I recommend this book!
