I found the methods she taught to be very easy to grasp so i just HAD to buy the book. When I brought it home the same principle applied, the illustrations and instructions made it easy to grasp. The best self-help book ever

I bought this book based on the Amazon reviews and I'm glad I did. This book is for everyone; I am most certainly not the average victim of low libido - I'm 24 years old, no children, and in a committed loving relationship. It cleared up so many things for me; so much so that my therapist is buying it to recommend to his other patients. I have since recommended it to all of my girlfriends, even the ones who feel they have no libido problems. Besides getting me to feel more open discussing some of the problems that were weighing heavily on me, I learned some simple relaxation tips to keep me 'in the moment' and focused on the experience, not the grocery list that I used to make in my mind. I could go on and on, but just trust me. It's worth buying.

This book contains soft-core representations of most of the basic sex positions that most people seem to be aware of. There are a few interesting ideas, but quite a few of the same positions are recycled with the inclusion of various sex toys and emblazoned with another silly name. Be prepared to see the exact same couple on every page.

Fun to read together

Many of the positions are slight deviations of each other but it still stimulates the adventerous thought process. It is a fun book to look at with your partner to stimulate arousal. I bought it used so it was worth it.

Too Many Slight Variations, Pictures And Related Text Often Not On The Same Page!
I bought this book among many choices because it had real people demonstrating the sexual positions and that the printed version had 640 pages in color.

After purchasing, I discovered that even slight changes in position were given different names, so meaningful positions are much fewer. In practice, it would be hard to remember these positions when the difference is so little.

If you are buying the Kindle version, be aware that many of the pictures and related texts are NOT on the same page, making learning to try each position much less convenient, as you have to page back and forth to try to understand the text and the picture.

Furthermore, in the last section of the printed book, there are "checklists" of positions - small pictures of 5 X 5 = 25 positions/pictures per page (7 pages total) that can help the reader to quickly choose ones to try. Having read many instructional manuals on the subject of sex, far too many are written from the perspective of clinical practice and not in layman terms. Jessica has done a fantastic job in keeping it simple, interesting and easy to follow. Techniques are visually explained in great detail and are very easy to follow. The other great point is that a lot of information is packed into a small package and this "sex manual" can be easily placed close at hand on a side table. The cover is by no means discreet so if you have kids it may be an issue if you keep this book on a side table but other than that it is probably one of the best books on the subject of sex ever written. My wife bought this for us and we both loved every minute of reading it! I am now recommending it to colleagues and friends.

This is a gorgeous book. Dr Jess has done a fantastic job blending technical know-how into an easy-to-follow guide. She starts by breaking down how our bodies work, which is the foundation to great sex! The book is laid out in an inviting way, with FAQs and little blurbs for sex geeks throughout. These little touches make for a fun and informative read. We start with the basics and ramp up to lots and lots of techniques for pleasuring him, pleasuring her, and of course, for pleasuring both. This book promises technique, but really it offers only the basics that you already know (because they are obvious). Instead, it simply offers scenarios to give some variety in the where and when. If you and your lover were to agree that, the next time you find each other restless at 3 AM, you've pre-decided you'll both just undress and 69, that is not technique, that is a scenario. You aren't really having unforgettable oral, just approaching it in a different manner.

If that's all you're looking for, this book contains lots of alternative ways to enjoy having oral sex. But you'll learn absolutely nothing new as far as technique goes.

Pretty much how to give women oral sex can be summed up with two things; 1) Stimulating/sucking on the clitoris and 2)putting fingers in vagina and rolling the fingers making the 'come hither' movement stimulating the G-spot (and never use teeth!!). The books says orgasm takes ten to fifteen minutes.

Now, I already knew that, but I thought this book would have something different in it, but it really doesn't. It's pretty much 50 'positions' (but not really technique), that have a sort of role playing in them.

The book is written by a woman which I thought would offer some good insight into this, but I think it may be a handicap. Or maybe giving a woman an orgasm isn't as complicated as many men think it is, and we should be less self-conscious of being able to please women and just believe that she is not faking it.

The book uses both hand drawn pictures and color photos to illustrate different positions. The book spends most of the time describing different places you can give your woman oral sex such as at the car wash or in an airplane restroom etc to help keep sex new and exciting. Much less time was given to the actual way to give oral sex. The book gave no details what to do after you finished giving oral sex to your woman and did not go in to mutiple orgasams with oral sex. After the woman came one time the book moved on the the next where to have sex story. The book also went into the use of sex toys to aid in oral sex. The book did suggest not to be too rough with a womans private parts. Gentle seemed the way to go. I did learn a few things that I did not already know about giving woman oral sex. If you are just starting to think about having oral sex with your woman this is a good guide but I do not think it is the perfect guide.

This is a great book for anyone interested in getting the most out of sex. Lessons in massage and moodsetting combined with A LOT of sexual positions make this one of the best books of its kind. Use as a guide to spice up your sex life or to just have fun with your partner. Lots of color pictures show by example and simplify the complexity of the average Kama Sutra books. Why read 500+ pages of a complex and vague interpretation when you can browse Hooper's 200 page guide that includes topics not even touched in Kama Sutra books. A must have for any couple. this book is really graphic with lovers in the nude doing the sex act in various positions not only from the kama sutra but also from the perfumed garden and other much-touted classic sex manuals from long ago. let me say that i have read alain danielou's translation of the kama sutra and also a paperback version of the perfumed garden (from bantam doubleday? written by sir richard burton if i remember right...he also has a kama sutra translation i think). those two books were excellent in their own right, not really as sex manuals per se, they are purely text, no illlustrations to help you make sense of positions, but with lots of insights given to their culture and how sex was cultivated in those days. anne hooper gives you the nitty-gritty of positions not only from kama sutra but from the perfumed garden, ananda ranga, etc as well. if what you really want to do is learn how to get down and try new sexual positions, this book shows you how. the pictures are...

I'm flabberghasted reading the other reviews of this book, so confused that I just retrieved it, to peruse it again before writing this review. I sense that other reviewers are processing the facts of the book through the lens of their own personal lives.

I read this superb book on men losing interest in sex with their wives as a professional consultant, with a keen interest in sex in America. The book is well balanced and not all focused on placing blame on EITHER party, inspite of two totally contradictory reviews of the same book.

The authors do make the accurate point that the lower-libido partner ALWAYS controls sexual frequency in any relationship. In no way does this book exempt wives from contributing to loss of their husband's libido.

First and foremost, the chapters of the book are organized around the results of a 4000 person, gender-balanced survey of men who have withdrawn from sex with their wives, and wives whose husbands don't want sex...

I must say. At first I thought there could be no better work on the subject than The Sex-Starved Wife: What to Do When He's Lost Desire. This book is much more comprehensive, thorough and gender balanced in examining the reasons why male partners either decrease or cease their sexual activity with their significant others. Perhaps this is so because the book is written by a married couple who wanted to be fair to both genders involved. Like THE SEX STARVED WIFE the book wrote that HSDD (hypoactive sexual desire disorder)can be used as a catchall term for little or no sex as a result of many factors both psychological and physiological in origin. Fantastic book
Let me preface my review by saying that I am skeptical about the philosophy behind imago therapy. I think it's simplistic and outdated to try to locate the source of all psychological problems in one's childhood. This is particularly true for couples. They may have problems because they have different personalities (e.g., one is an introvert and one is an extrovert) or because one partner has undergone a traumatic event, such as disease or loss of a close family member.

Having said this, I found the book absolutely fantastic, and would give it 6 stars if I could. The book doesn't really talk about the philosophic underpinnings of imago therapy. It just uses one key concept from this therapy approach (a specific form of dialog where one mirrors, then validates and empathizes with, the statements of the partner) as the key ingredient in a long list of exercises that help partners to develop an intimate connection. I would not recommend buying this book by itself. You should really consider getting the first either before, or along side this one. This edition has several more tastefully shown methods of rope play. Several of which refer back to the previous book for the beginning knots of the segments shown. So, previous knots shown aren't fully recapped in this edition, but are still used in many of the techniques. So, again, make sure you include the first one to your collection as to avoid confusion and to maximize the fun.

Back in 1975, I read Studs Terkel's Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day an organized set of interviews which focused on "real people," and how their jobs affected their lives. In a similar vein, Naked at Our Age, appropriately subtitled "Talking Out Loud About Senior Sex", also spotlights real people's experiences, feelings, thoughts, and concerns about sex in the latter half of life. For me, Terkel's book highlighted the tension between the way a job could be unsatisfying yet also provide vital self-definition. Price's book elaborates on the multiple physical, social, and emotional tensions arising from expressing one's sexuality as an elder.

Excellent Book...

...for its intended audience, which is lovers of men over 50. It gives advice and insight on making love to a man over 50 without hurting his feelings, and more or less helping him along without him knowing it. However, if you have a more open and communicative relationship with your lover, I would recommned the book "Sex over 50" which is a great book about loving each other.

This book is a MUST read. It's quick and you can easily read it in an hour and a half, but it's amazing. Once I opened it up, I couldn't put it down again.

Randy Alcorn starts out by talking about why sexual purity is important and why it matters to you and to me. He then explains Biblical principles for how to fight sexual temptation, including an excellent chapter about being radical in order to fight sexual sins. He concludes with practical guidelines about sexual temptation.

As a believer who is daily struggling with sexual temptation, I really wish someone had told me about this book back when I was in high school or middle school because it would have saved me a ton of grief later on in life. This book should be required reading for every teenager and every young adult. It's freeing, and it's life-changing.

A Necessary Resource for the subject of Sexual Purity

What a great book! It is short and to the point about sexual sin. A quick read. It discusses it in a very honest but tasteful manner. It provides plenty of scripture. It convicts the reader regardless of how much sexual sin is in their life (mental or physical) and gives practicle and biblical strategies to either avoid it all together or to combat the sin that the reader might already be ensnared in. This book is good for men AND women, high school age and above! Great resource for pastors and youth pastors to have on hand. This book has given me a realistic perspective and has helped me to understand that where it all starts is with that first thought or that first glance...and that this is where we recognize it as sin and stop the process. Life changing!

This is a great little book on purity. I read it in an hour and couldn't put it down. "The Purity Principle" gets "in your face" on the issue of sexual purity, speaking directly, but not inappropriately about the slippery slope that is sexual sin and practical ways to combat it. The engaging message was so vivid and powerful that I immediately ordered two additional copies so that each of my sons could have their own.

My one reservation about this book is that it does not give enough help and hope to the person who has already seriously fallen and needs help getting on the right track. I am concerned that such a person, rather than seeing the power of a gracious God to restore them, might feel that they are too far gone for a meaningful recovery after reading this book.
